Bollywood’s next move? Latin America. But will they manage to overcome the hearts and capture the attention of Spanish-speaking movie-goers? Hindi filmmaker UTV Motion Pictures wants to find out.

Now Spanish-speakers will have a chance to check out the genre. “Guzaarish“, meaning “Request” in English, will be the first Hindi movie to test the waters in Latin America. Starring Indian actors, Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai, the drama-romance about a skilled magician who is left quadriplegic and wanting to end his life after a magic trick goes wrong, is set to be released in Peru in February 2012.

Amisha is slated to groove to Ooh La La, Chikni Chameli and Madhubala as Anushka’s dance act will be with a few telly actors plus Nandish Sandhu, Sushant Singh and Shabbir Ahluwalia giving her company.

Apparently Ms Patel is pulling out all the stops, especially for the Chikni Chameli track. Watch out, Katrina!

That is exactly the reason why she chose Indo-Canadian porn star Sunny Leone for the lead part in ‘Jism 2‘.

“We have done authentic casting in ‘Jism 2′. We have taken Sunny Leone because we want a girl who plays that kind of part and persona,” said Pooja Bhatt on the sidelines of an event.

The actress-turned-filmmaker, daughter of Mahesh Bhatt, is at present busy with pre-production work of “Jism 2″, which will go on floors soon. Two male actors are yet to be finalized for the movie.

“It’s only been four years since I have been in the industry, and if in such a short time someone calls you iconic, it is scary and overwhelming,” the 26-year-old actress said at a derby event here. However, she feels it is more important to prove her as a good citizen first.

“As long as I am a responsible adult and I am responsible as a youth or a style icon, and I don’t take myself very seriously that ‘Oh! I am so amazing’, but be a responsible citizen and a good Indian, that is the most important thing,” said Sonam Kapoor.

Sonam turned up at the derby event clad in a coral red sari and donning silver jewellery. While most women doll up in dresses and a hat at a derby, Sonam decided to go unusual.

“Everyone wears a predictable dress and hat and comes to the derby. I said why don’t I do it the old Indian style where they used to wear cotton and chiffon saris. That’s why I wore silver and coral,” said the actress, who was recently seen in “Players”.

Sonam is at present busy shooting for Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s “Bhaag Milkha Bhaag” and Rajkumar Santoshi’s untitled movie.

A friend says about the actress, “Tabu has always been a fun person. She has been unnecessarily saddled with this image of being serious. Tabu loves to dance. She has been doing so for years. Lately, she has decided to learn dance professionally.”

When we contacted Sandip Soparkar, he was hesitant to discuss Tabu’s dance lessons. “She has taken some lessons,” he admitted.

“Then she stopped due to her travelling schedule. She’s very good at dancing, she doesn’t have two left feet at all. I suggested she explore her dancing skills in films, but Tabu dances to relax. She has requested that her visits be kept away from the public eye.”
